A simple and yet breathtaking way of reaching the top of the Rock and quietly enjoying the view, is by Cable Car. You can travel from the Alameda Gardens to the
Apes Den and then on to the summit where the view is amazing. You can see past the Strait into the Atlantic with the Mediterranean behind you, Spain is to the north, and to the south is the coast of Morocco (15 miles away) - two continents meeting two great bodies of water. The cable car consists of two cabins, each of which can carry up to 31 passengers (including the attendant) and have a travelling speed of 5m per second.
