This little village nestling on the eastern side of the Rock was first used by the Genoese who followed the British Fleet (repairing their ships as required) where they settled down. The descendants of these shipwrights still live in this sleepy village, where there are still a number that go fishing in the traditional boats. It's beach is tiny but excellent, and there are a number of small pubs and restaurants specialising in fresh fish in the village.
