This was originally constructed during WWII as the nerve centre of Eisenhower's HQ for Operation Torch. It lies in the centre of a tunnel which cuts across the Rock (East to West) in a straight line as the photogrpah shows. The Com Centre later became a NATO communications facility and still is in active use by British Forces Gibraltar.
