Med Rowing Club

The Mediterranean Rowing Club was established in 1899 by a breakaway group of Calpe Rowing Club members who decided that the only way to assure good competition was to have a rival club.

The original site was at Bayside and the clubhouse was a floating building which could be towed out to wherever a regatta was to take place. Later the clubhouse was beached at Bayside, where it remained, after continuous modifications, until 1996. A new site and a splendid building was inaugurated at Europort Road.
