Prince Edward's Gate

This gate was named after the 4th son of George III (later Duke of Kent and father of Queen Victoria) who was serving in Gibraltar when it was cut through Charles V Wall in 1790.Just passing through the gate into Prince Edward's Road an inscription used to read:
"God and the soldier all men adore in time of trouble and no more, for when war is over and all things righted God is neglected and the old soldier slighted."
